as part of DealMakers and has appeared quarterly ever since.

PRIVATE EQUITY DEAL TABLES
The private equity deal tables are not used for ranking purposes. The nature of private equity does not lend itself to the compilation of tables for ranking purposes. However, the tables do serve as useful heat guide pointing to hot sectors, funds and firms, which proves useful to both LP's and GP's in tracking investment opportunities and gauging performance. 
The tables track activity in South Africa. 

CATALYST PRIVATE EQUITY DEAL OF THE YEAR 
Every year, Catalyst endeavors to award the Catalyst Private Equity Deal of the Year to the private equity GP involved. This is not to say that such deal will automatically present itself and, from time to time, Catalyst has reserved its right not to make the award due to a dearth in deserving candidates. 
The Award is presented at the Annual DealMakers Gala Awards held in Sandton.
